Absorbent and porous and yellow is he

Todd's birthday is Monday, so Riley and I had to go shopping last night to secure a present. Riley is a very thoughtful gift buyer. He puts a lot of effort into selecting just the right thing. He's also four, so his idea of "perfect" is sometimes a little off. For example the brainstorming session on the topic of "Things Daddy really likes and might want for his birthday" produced results such as:

a box
oranges
orange juice
grapes
grape juice
lemonade
bread
coconut milk (where the hell did that come from?)
slippers

What Riley most wanted to get his dad was a box containing all above mentioned items. It was all he talked about for weeks. So last night, I finally gave in and we headed out to get the necessary supplies. We found ourselves in the Target shoe department where they just happen to carry very large, man-sized Sponge Bob slippers. In all honesty, I called upon all my marketing know-how and tried to sell the advantages of the other slipper options. But Riley himself has a pair of Sponge Bob slippers, and thought it would be the coolest thing ever if they had a matching set. What could I do? His big green eyes were pleading with me.

Happy birthday, Todd.
